The 17th China International Polyamide & Intermediates Forum, supported by Nylon Committee of China Chemical Fibers Association (CCFA) and China National Chemical Fiber Corp., organized by CHTC Landview Network Co., Ltd. (CCFEI) and Tecnon OrbiChem, was held at 9:00 a.m., 5th December, 2019 in Golden Tulip Shanghai Rainbow Hotel, China. Fujian Shenyuan New Materials, Yufeng Chemical Fiber Machinery and Pujiang Xinxin Chemical Fiber Spare Parts are sponsors for this event. Around 400 participants from leading players of more than 30 countries and regions gathered again to share their ideas about widely concerned issues of the nylon chain, to name just a few: Capro, CCFA, CPDC, DOMO Chemicals, Fibrant, GSFC, Hengyi Petrochemical, Highsun Synthetic Fiber, Huafon Microfibre (Shanghai), INVISTA, Jinjiang Technology, KuibyshevAzot, Lubao Coking Group, PULWAY, Shenma Group, Shenyuan New Material, Sinopec, Sumitomo, Tianchen Yaolong, Xinhui Meida, Yangquan Coal Industry...etc. During the conference, high lights were laid on green production, sustainability and bio-based. Deng Jun, Secretary General of Nylon Committee, CCFA shared his valuable opinions about Sustainable Development of China Nylon Industry, which should be based on technology innovation. Zhan Hong, Regional Product Manager of DSM Engineering Plastics, presented a report titled Journey toward Sustainable and Circular World, promising that DSM will use bio-based or recycled raw materials for the whole product series by year 2030. Concerns were also paid to expanding caprolactam capacity and product chain integration, which pose challenges in product application. Wang Songlin, Executive Vice President of Hengyi Petrochemical, brought a report of Perspective of Nylon-6 Market and Technology, with analysis about status quo and tendency of the industry chain, mentioning technology progress of caprolactam, polymerizing and spinning as main drives for future development. Song Manjun, Deputy General Manager of Fujian Shenyuan New Materials gained applauds with his speech titled New Platform, New Challenge, CPL Asia Market Outlook. Nylon-66 chip prices have been declining for almost one year. What is taking place with downstream sectors this year? With quite a few domestic enterprises announcing adiponitrile projects, such as INVISTA’s 400kt/yr project expected to start construction in 2020, is adiponitrile localization around the corner? William Bann, Business Manager, and Anna Zhao, Senior Consultant of Tecnon OrbiChem, together brought a speedh, in which they believed that based on fast expansion of domestic adiponitrile capacity, current nylon-66 supply strain in China will be lifted, and the availability will improve prominently in the future. Alex Lim, Business Development Manager of INVISTA also presented to introduce The Unique Advantages of Nylon6,6 and its Cutting-edge Applications. Other speakers also contributed valuable ideas and information about benzene supply, green production of CPL, modified engineering plastics and bio-based PA.
