The 4th China International Recycled Polyester Conference (2008), co-organized by China Chemical Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI), Gneuss Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Dr. Thiele Polyester Technologies and PCI PET Packaging, Resin & Recycling Ltd, was held on Sep 3rd in Jinling Jinma Hotel Hangzhou, and came to a successful ending on Sep 4th. Around 250 participants attended the conference, including producers, traders, feedstock suppliers, downstream users and machinery suppliers from home and abroad. Mr. Zheng Junlin, Secretary General of China Chemical Fiber Association, gave the opening speech, and then Mr. Lin Shidong, Secretary General of CCFA Recycled Fiber Commission, gave speech on Development of Recycled Fiber Industry and Environment-Protection, which provided guidance for the industry in future environment protection by providing detailed standards on production process, resource and energy. Mr. Andrew Noone, Managing Director of PCI PET Packaging, gave his speech titled Issues and Challenges in Global PET Recycling, which gave detailed introduction on PET recycling industry in China and the world, as well as development of B-to-B technology in the West. Mr. Zhao Fuping, senior engineer of Yizheng Chemical Fibers made speech on Brand Strategy and Production Control of R-PFY, gave analysis on current advantages and disadvantages in re-PFY market and provided valuable advices. Mr. Li Songbo, Senior Manager of Sinochem Plastics Company, gave introduction on their physical process of re-PET, which is the only in Asia, as well as the technology standard. Gneuss Kunststofftechnik and Oerlikon Neumag gave introduction on their advanced technologies and patent products. There were also speeches focused on PET end-user market given by Dr. Lingxiang Xu, Sales Manager of Brückner Formte, Anindya Dasgupta, Managing Director of SIMA India and Miles Tang, Senior Sales Manager of Bühler AG During the Conference, producers, traders and downstream users got a good opportunity to exchange opinions and gained a better idea on market trend in 2008. B-to-B technology and other new technologies drew more attention from players and many of them began to reconsider their self-orientation and look into accelerating structural adjustment. Compared with previous sessions, this time we provided exhibition booth during the conference, which achieved success. As for topics concerned, in the 4th Conference the content was not only confined to chemical fiber chain but expanded to non-fiber fields such as bottle-to-bottle.
