Organized by CCFEI and PCI Acrylonitrile Ltd, the 7th China International Acrylonitrile & Acrylic Fiber Forum had been held during 17-19 Mar 2010, in Minya Hotel, Shanghai. The conference gained strong support from China Chemical Fiber Association, China Wool Textile Association and China National Chemical Fiber Corp., and was attended by more than 150 participants including producers, traders and consumers from home and abroad. Senior officials from China Chemical Fiber Association, Jilin Qifeng Chemical Fiber, PCI Acrylonitrile Ltd, Beijing Kangbo Lixin Technology, Cixi Artificial Fur Association, Japan Exlan, Shanghai Haixin Plush, Jiangxi Changjiu Agrochemical and Asahi Kasei Chemicals gave speeches focused on economy perspective, acrylonitrile derivatives, supply/demand changes, R&D of new fibers, trading, Acrylamide & Polyacrylamide perspective and application of acrylic fibers. There had also been a special section for artificial fur.

By discussing and exchanging opinions, participants came to following conclusion, that tight supply will continue to support acrylonitrile and acrylic fiber prices, but high price level will somewhat curb demand as acrylic fiber demand is lagged behind acrylonitrile gains. ABS and acrylamide are also facing firming upstream costs and cautious buying interest. According to industry specialists, in 2010 economic environment will continue to improve, and players should take the chance to develop new products of high attached value and technologies, and it will be a good choice to limit operation rate to cope with high feedstock costs.
