10th China International Recycled Polyester Conference & Exhibition successfully ends

Supported by Recycled Fiber Commission of China Chemical Fibers Association and China National Chemical Fibre Corp., organized by CCFEI and Dr. Thiele Polyester Technology, the 10th China International Recycled Polyester Conference & Exhibition successfully started on 17 September and ended on 19 September, in Wyndham Bund East Shanghai, China.

Nearly 330 delegates including domestic and overseas producers, traders, raw material suppliers, downstream consumers, machine and equipment suppliers, co-organizers and media from over 30 countries and regions attended the conference. Wang Yuping, Secretary General of China Chemical Fibers Association, made the opening address. And Lin Shidong, Secretary General of Recycled Fiber Commission of CCFA contributed the first speech with the title “Publicizing and implementation of the threshold for R-PET industry”, in which he preached the policies and standards related to R-PET industry, and pointed out the direction for the industry development under intensifying competitions.

Qian Jun, Vice President of Ningbo Dafa Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., introduced appraisal system of cleaner production for R-PET industry, and explained the necessity and note points of cleaner production based on his own experience. Later, Li Peizhi, Manager of Import and Export Department of Haiyan Haili Green Fiber Co., Ltd., shared an outlook of R-PFY industry, and gave a direction of R-PFY industry development from the perspective of her own plant. The above two speeches provide real examples for R-PET fiber producers to transform and upgrade.

Li Lingshen, Chairman of China Nonwovens and Industrial Textiles Association, talked about the industry highlight: Rapid growth of nonwoven, which provided a fresh market for recycled fiber producers. Pan Jianxin, President of Guangde Tianyun Non-woven Co., Ltd., brought the speech titled “Automobile textiles’ requirement for R-PET fiber”, which narrated the requirements on R-PET fiber from the aspect of downstream sectors, illustrating automobile textiles, a hot field among nonwoven applications.

Stewart Hardy, Global Manager - Petrochemical Market Dynamics of Nexant Ltd., made detailed explanation on the status quo of global R-PET industry and analyzed the impact from virgin PET sector in his speech “Growth of global R-PET capacity and competition for consumers in China”. Ren Xiaoyan, Analyst of CCFEI, with the speech titled “Analysis on R-PET market trend in Jan-Aug 2014”, gave a detailed review of development in R-PET industry so far in 2014, as well as the market outlook.

Helen Fu of IKEA Trading Services (China) Co., Ltd Shanghai Branch demonstrated IKEA’s environmental protection concept and contributions in social responsibility.

With the help of the conference, producers, traders and downstream consumers get a further understanding of the status quo of R-PET industry. Meanwhile, market participants have an easier access to the hot topics like structural transformation, chemical-method recycling and bottle-to-bottle technology. With rich contents concerning R-PET applications including R-PSF/R-PFY and nonwoven, the conference becomes an annual feast for industry insiders to communicate and cooperate with each other.
