Polyester industry went through huge turbulences in 2006, fell extremely bearish in H2 2007, and then in H1 2008, feedstock costs soared while polyester products moved toward the opposite direction. The situation would no longer allow polyester players to stick to their old production methods, just focus on feedstock costs and satisfied with shares in conventional product market. It's time for them to focus themselves on macroeconomic policies, new differentiated fibers and technologies as well as new applications, with a global perspective!

Polyester Market Session:
Is there any rule in the crude oil market trend? How will it influence polyester market?
What prevented polyester players from passing on the gains in crude oil values?
What changes may take place in China polyester market with influence from softening domestic and overseas demand? And their influences on enterprises?

Textile Session:
Are India and Pakistan, the major opponents of China as textile exporters, facing similar difficulties in textile industry?
Will there be chance for a textile revival in 2009, in spite of influence from RMB appreciation, macroeconomic policies and higher labor costs?
What’s the opinion of Europe and the US on Chinese textiles?

New Technology and Product Session:
Where lay the advantages of scaled and conventional production methods?
New products in non-fiber sector.
Are there any new fiber technology and product that deserve our concern?

For those hot issues mentioned above, polyester and petrochemical players need an opportunity to communicate with each other. So based on the four previous successful Forums, China Chemical Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI) and Tecnon OrbiChem are again to jointly organize the 5th China International Polyester & Intermediates Forum. In the coming fifth forum, speeches will be delivered in different sessions, by top managements from world-famed petrochemical enterprises, technology suppliers, large polyester feedstock producers, Chinese polyester producers as well as related industry associations and institutions, concerning changes of market sentiment, new technologies, new products and tendency in textile market.
