The 13th China International Polyamide & Intermediates Forum, supported by Nylon Committee of China Chemical Fiber Association (CCFA) and China National Chemical Fiber Corp., organized by China Chemical & Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI) and Tecnon OrbiChem, is held at 9:00 a.m., 3rd December, 2015 in Shanghai, China, with Solvay and WITTE PUMPS & TECHNOLOGY as the main sponsors. Leading players from home and overseas, including: CCFA, CPDC, DSM, Genomatica, GPPC, GRUPA AZOTY S.A. TARNOW, Hengyi Petrochemical, Honeywell, Jinjiang Technology, KuibyshevAzot, Lipeng, Luxi Chemicals, Nurel, Shenma Group, Sinopec, Solvay, SRF, Sumitomo, Ube, Xinhui Meida, Yangquan Coal Industry, Yiwu Huading...etc., are gathering to share their ideas about widely concerned issues of the nylon chain. The first speech of the day comes from Deng Jun, Secretary General of Nylon Committee, China Chemical Fibers Association. In his speech, Mr. Deng takes a review on problems existing with China’s nylon industry during the period of 12th Five Year Plan, and talks about Nylon Industry Development during the 13th Five-year Plan Period, referring the backdrop, targets and tasks for the industry in feedstock production, application, R&D key technologies and homemade equipments.

Qi Jingmei, economic researcher from State Information Center, contributes an Overview of China’s Economy in 2015-2016 and Policy Proposals, mainly consists of overview of economic development in 2015, backdrop and perspective of China’s economy in 2016, perspective and targets for China's economic growth in 2016, Proposals for macro-economic control. She forecasts that economic growth is expected to taper in 2016, with GDP growth rate at around 6.5% and CPI increases by around 1.5%.

Feng Qidu, Deputy General Manager of Yiwu Huading introduces advantages of Nylon Intelligent Technology for Nylon Yarn Production, including: First, worker number reduces by around half with robots replacing workers, cutting labor cost, which has a great significance when labor cost is growing in China; second, as bobbin does not contact hands, oil stain and broken yarn are reduced, while rate of AA-grade products increases by around 2 percentage points; and third, the information and position of each bobbin can be obtained at any time, meaning the on-line automatic management of variety, batch number and grade by computer, which makes Huading’s intelligentization, informatization and automation reach advanced levels at home and abroad.

Next follows Qu Zhenlin, Director of Sales Dept., UBE Shanghai. In the past 20 years demand of PA has been increased by 5-6% per year. In Mr. Qu’s speech titled Innovative Application Development of Polyamide Engineering Plastics, he focused on application of polyamide resin such as PA6, 66, 12 and relevant Copolymer (6/66,6/12) in automotive and packaging industries.

After coffee break, Sun Hailong, Senior Engineer from Nanjing Institute of Organic shares recent advances of CPL, adiponitrile, as well as nylon-11 and nylon-12 raw material production in his speech titled Chemistry New Technologies for Nylon Polymers Production

James Mills, Polyamide Business Manager of Tecnon OrbiChem provides some hints about changes in polyamide market this year, in his speech titled Lower Costs, Lower Prices, Lower Margins: No Quick Recovery for Polyamide Markets. According to Mr. Mills, changes includes slower economic growth in China, negative cash margin of many CPL producers, and phenol losing its cost edge as a substitution for cyclohexane as caprolactam feedstock, etc.
