China will peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.The goal has been formally established in 2020. In 2021, a working leading group meeting has been held, and the Opinions on Completely, Accurately and Comprehensively Implementing the New Development Concept to Do a Good Job in Peaking Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Achieve Carbon Neutrality, and the Action Plan for peaking carbon dioxide emissions before 2030have been issued; In 2022, the Implementation Plan for Science and Technology to Support the Realization of China's Carbon peaking & Carbon Neutrality (2022-2030) was issued; The Guideline for the Construction of Carbon Peaking &Carbon Neutrality Standard System was issued in 2013. Under the situation of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, recycled polyester industry, as a sustainable green industry, is also facing new challenges and opportunities.

Entering 2023, the pandemic is no longer the main factor affecting the economy. China provides support for real estate and economic policies, and the measures to curb inflation by raising interest rates are ongoing abroad. Under this circumstance, what changes will occur in the pattern of recycled polyester market this year, and how market demand will expand and develop? These have become the focus of much attention. Will the terminal market demand be able to recover in 2023? How will enterprises cope with the increasingly competitive market as recycled polyester production capacity continues to expand? Can the newly added capacity be effectively digested? Can the current issue of counterfeiting in the industry be effectively addressed? Is there more room for breakthroughs in recycled raw material and technology? What is the future development direction of green and environment-friendly fibers? What development path should companies choose in the new industry landscape? Under the continuous promotion of China's "dual carbon" goal, how to give full play to the advantages of green and environment-friendly properties recycled polyester?

On the theme of meeting challenges, seizing opportunities and jointly creating a green future, this session conducted Focusing on the themes of Meeting challenges, seizing opportunities and jointly creating a green future, Recycled Fiber Commission of CCFA, China National Chemical Fiber Corp, China Chemical & Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI), Dr. Thiele Polyester Technology, based on the successes in the past 17sessions, are again to jointly present an event to support recycling economy and provide networking opportunities. As a key event of recycling industry, Recycled Polyester Development Forum started in 2005, and since the year of 2011, the even had been attended by more than 300 participants each year, from around 30 countries and regions. To the efforts of the event’s organizers and supporters, recent event shave attracted 300-400 participants each year, from all major chemical fiber consuming and origin countries and regions, including Germany, Italy, Austria, India, Japan, South Korea, the US, UK, Belgium, Greek, Thailand, Pakistan, China, Chinese Hongkong and Taiwan, etc.
